What are the different types of Animation?

Animation is the process of making a time series of images, that give an illusion of movement and repeat itself. The opposite of animation is live-action is the process of filmmaking in which real-life pictures are taken. Animation has two types:

Live action-based animation and Non-Live action Based animation.

Animation, as the name itself defines, is a technique that helps in bringing something to life. It gives our imagination a visual form and can convey messages and ideas more effectively. It has come a long way from the fast-paced cartoons we used to watch on television. It’s now available across different media like TV, cinema, digital, and even mobile phones.

Animation is a form of art and entertainment as well as a powerful tool for business and education. It plays an important role in making products attractive, appealing, and more effective.

Animation can be used in many different ways. One of its uses is to make the characters and objects within a story seem much more realistic; this could mean making a running man look like he is running, or giving a car the ability to bounce over a speed bump like it would in the real world.

  • CGI Stands for computer-generated imagery which is generally being used with 2D Animations and even with 3D character animations. The CGI concept has evolved since it was invented in the 1960s. This has been adopted in various projects including the movies like “Star wars”. Its growth was also boosted by the evolution of cinemas especially in the area of VFX.

Animation is always considered a difficult process and I always wondered why animation fascinates us so much especially in motion pictures. Animation heightens the emotion of action and it is very difficult to recreate any kind of animal, human or mechanical motion in real life.

Animation has been an appealing and interesting part of movies and ads. Animation is increasingly becoming a trendsetter of communication. Different forms of communication such as communication through image, communication through audio, and communication through animation interact with communication in the present society. Animation is something under-appreciated. Though it seems to be growing in popularity, it’s still not given the amount of credit it truly deserves. It draws the eyes, conveys feelings and emotions, and occasionally important information.
